Magnon International - My Links Gone on Sabbatical?

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a company asking for a link exchange with my client. Usually link exchange requests take pride of place in the deleted items folder but this time the site was well related to my client’s, had some decent PR and looked like it would bring some decent traffic; so I duly added a link back to the site!

About a week later I checked the site and to my (not huge) surprise my client’s link had gone; as had a bunch of other links that had been in place on the site. So very quickly it was easy to figure out that the link building company (using a Gmail account - always a give away) were putting a load of links on their client’s link page and then contacting the webmasters of those sites and asking for a link back. They were then waiting a few days and simply removing the links from their client’s sites. Sneaky bastards!

So I sent the Gmail account an email saying “WTF?” and got an email back saying “but you’re link is there, look!” So it was! They’d added it back to the site in between me complaining and them emailing me back. So I left it, checked again in a few days and the link was gone again!

I contacted the owner of the site who had paid Magnon International for a “high quality link building service” and he wasn’t happy! He gave me proper (non Gmail) email addresses and I sent some more nasty emails to the relevant people at Magnon International. This time I got an email back saying all the usual crap about not wanting to cause offence and the email also had a link to the page where my client’s link had, once more, been added back to the site. It’s a shame the link had been dropped on a brand new, orphaned page which wasn’t even in the Google index making it a waste of bloody time!

That’s when I decided to come here! Check your reciprocals people! You never know when they might just disappear.

  1. Go to Google and type in magnon International and you will see rip off report. I demanded refund for web design that was 1 st grade level if not kindergarten work. they ripped me off for $1700. This is a bad company and should be out of business, it does not surprise me that there are other complaints about this company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL BE RIPPED OF TO.
